This farmhouse in southern France was remodelled to create a stylish holiday house that respects the character of the original house and its beautiful rural setting.
Poor quality later additions and the entire internal structure were removed. The original external walls were retained, while a large side extension contains a new kitchen with direct access to the garden and dining terrace. The interiors were remodelled, with a top lit double height entrance hall to improve vertical connections and airflow through the house.
The extensive grounds were landscaped to create a series of outdoor “rooms”, including a large new swimming pool. Softwood shutters and a colour palette matching the limestone of nearby vernacular buildings allow the house to blend into its surroundings.
